It’s a Fit!

By now the majority of us understand the value and benefits of going with the flow. It is powerful practice to surrender and release into the fluidity of the Universe. To ride the Wave.

However, it’s quite another thing to go along to get along. To coast on the wave of popular opinion and choice. To value something simply because the majority of the populace around you does so. Even when what is being valued is not a fit for you.

We are living in a culture where many have dishonored their truth, their highest personal awareness in order to fit in, to be accepted. Ultimately to feel safe.

As humans we crave and truly need to feel safe to function at our greatest potential. The newest research into the nervous system and the Vegus Nerve speaks to this need. In order for the nervous system to stay calm and balanced we must know we are safe, and when we are pushed into discomfort or fear, it is vital we can regulate the nervous system back to center.

It is also human nature to follow the crowd. Literally, when a mass of humans sense fear they return to a pack mentality, all running in unison for the perceived safety zone. Sadly, we have seen too many examples of this, with disastrous results in Modern Culture.

Given these proclivities it is the courageous soul who can claim and follow their truth. Think of this like setting cultural boundaries. Just because everyone else posts fabulous, inflammatory, or ridiculous things on social media does not mean we have to if it does not resonate with us.

Finding what really fits for you is a practice in itself. Really taking the time to feel into choices, discerning what serves your highest good, and the highest good of those you love. What feeds your purpose? Can your choices lift the collective energies? The health of the planet?

What fits you?

When something is not a fit, we often know this. We feel it in our gut, maybe in our mind, possibly the heart or we intuit…we just have a feeling…

When this inner knowing reaches your consciousness can you be brave enough to simply state? “That is not a fit for me.” Really, nothing more is needed. When something is not a fit we should allow ourselves to voice this truth. Without explanations and justifications. It’s just not a fit.

We can honor this for ourselves and for others. We can hear the messages from the body, from the soul. We do not have to go along to get along. Only when, and if, it’s a fit.
