I See You

Have you experienced the gift of someone telling you they “see you?”… It’s a powerful expression when offered authentically.

At the core of our human existence our deepest and most sacred desire is to be seen. It is a Universal truth which we all share, the validation of being seen for exactly who we are.

Not for who we appear to be under the layers of clothing, hairstyles and make-up, our job titles, our family roles, our hobbies, passions and pastimes. But for our essence, the spark of our souls unique and complete individuality.

This is the naked and raw aspect of ourselves; our bare vulnerability, the ugly bits and the pure beauty. This holds all the radiant light as well as revealing the depth of our shadows. This is our passion and our pain. The sum total of our human experience.

The soul cries out to be seen in a world full of comparisons, judgment, shame and endless competition. The more we layer on, the brighter the clothing, the bigger the hair, all the attention grabbing actions, along with our endless, endless chatter. These behaviors indicate the greater our need is to be seen, at the soul’s level.

The phenomena of social media has created a vehicle where every second of every day thousands upon thousands of souls are crying out to be seen. Not because of their beautiful families, or accomplishments or fabulous vacations, but because they need to be seen. For the incredible miracle of who they are…for better or for worse toiling through life on this Earth plain.

The humility of the Enlightened ones shines example on this. The humble and unadorned, the quiet and silent. The ascended masters and mystics our beacons of Light and hope; Christ, Buddha, Gandhi, Mother Teresa. Their souls whispered rather than roared. Known and felt connection to Love and Source create a solid foundation for the soul, a peaceful home in which to dwell.

Consider the next time you or yourself is buried under the layers of need crying out for your miraculous essence to be acknowledged and really seen. We can do this for ourselves and for others. We can simply say “I see you, in all your beauty and all your pain and I accept and love you for who you are.” Love in spite of, love because…because it is our common bond our connectivity of Spirit, this desire we share.

Source knows, the Divine Source of your understanding already sees you, you are created from and through this energy. The miracle of your existence, your many unique and beautiful gifts, your purpose, naked and raw, the true self is evidence of this.

See you, see each other, know this connection this Love, this gift.
