Catch & Release

The good things in life, the sweetness or Kama in Yogic terms, comes and goes. We as humans toil, we struggle, we learn, we love, we rage. Life can feel like a swirling stream around us, caught in the current we either stand firm, or release and surrender into the flow.

But we often catch the sweetness, those moments when we are lifted up out of the ordinary, the mundane, and experience the splendid magic of being.

In that sweet spot remember to pause. To feel it and honor the momentary magic. Because all too soon the current will catch you and spin you in a different direction. Such is the flow of life.

Learn to trust and value the ephemeral nature of this so that you can connect with the moments of sweetness. But, more importantly also learn to release them back into the flow. Follow the example set by nature. Everything ebbs and flows. The moon waxes and wanes, the seasons cycle through, the tides rise and fall.

When the sweetness dances upon the tongue of your life taste it, savor it, then swallow, digest and release. This ongoing exchange will ensure you stay in the flow and ride the currents. Allowing for what you give to reshape and come back to you in another form. A new sweet delight.

Think of a time in your life when you did just that. You caught something… something really sweet, and rather than hang onto it obsessively you surrendered it when the time felt right. And it came back to you, changed but still sweet maybe sweeter.

This can happen in a job, a relationship, a cause, in so many ways we have opportunity to surrender our hold on what feels good in the moment and watch the moment change.

This energetic exchange works within the context of your gifts as well as your abundance. What is it you are uniquely able to give? Can you

surrender your precious gifts into the flow and watch them reform and return? Your abundance?

Giving from this place is a powerful way to magnify the energy of return. The first lesson of learning to love is learning to let go.

Catch the sweetness as it races by in the current, taste it and release it back into the flow, the Kama will return to you again and again.
